Star Wars - The Rise of Skywalker

Julie invited me to join their family for the opening night showing of the final episode in the Star Wars series that began in 1977.  It was action packed and filled with enough twists to leave a viewer dazed.  Although it often seemed like a contrived revolving door to the afterlife, I loved the characters and the stunning visuals and audio.  Certainly great entertainment!  But it does leave many unanswered questions...

Late October Sibling Get Together

In late October we enjoyed several days visiting with LuJean's family in St. George and Brian Head.  The trip also brought opportunities to explore southern Utah back roads and spend some time in Springdale.

A Birthday, Albian Basin and Star Valley

On August 4th we celebrated Alexander's eight birthday and baptism.  It was a fun get together for all, including the grandparents.

August 5th we enjoyed a  trip to Albian Basin.  We did a short hike but noted that the wildflowers were still several weeks from full bloom.

On August 10th we attended LuJean's 55th class reunion in Wyoming.  You can spot her in the back, right of center.  Wonderful folks along with a fine Dutch oven dinner--yum!

Early Trip to the Tetons

June 12 thru 15th
We booked an early Teton trip in an effort to avoid the summer wildfire smoke and the crowds.  Thanks to winter storms and a late spring the lakes and rivers were at capacity while Jackson Hole was green against a backdrop of snow capped mountains.

The Park Service was busy warning visitors about the bears near the lodge. We also visited the new Jenny Lake Visitor Center and the Gros Ventre slide and valley.

The mountains were especially beautiful as we were having breakfast at the lodge.  We also took the jeep on the backroads, including Moose Head Ranch.

This is a great time of year to visit the Tetons unless you are planning on hiking in the mountains--you would need snowshoes.

April Trip to Zion Park

April 26 thru 30th
We joined Matt & Julie on their family campout at Zion Park.
For Details see:  >Friends & Family > Julie's Album > 2019 Zion Park

Spring Updates

We have added a new gallery that provides a detailed review of the June, 1973, backpack trip down Deer Creek, Boulder Creek and The Gulch.  Due to high water, it became a complicated adventure full of  surprises.

Check it out at:
Outings> Backpacks > 1973 Deer Creek, Boulder Creek & The Gulch

We also added several dozen photos to the Quill Traders collage gallery.  Even if you don't know all the players, sometimes it's just fun to view a bunch of young, energetic friends having a good time...well, most of the time.

Winter Wanderings

February began with a quick trip to Park City for lunch at our favorite diner and a walk in the snow and sunshine.

The good news--we have plenty of snow with more on the way.

In late January we switched out the soft top for a new hard top which will be more secure for trips and have easier rear cargo access for Costco runs.

In mid January we joined Matt, Julie and the kids for our annual visit to the Utah Auto Show.  More photos are available at:  Friends & Family>Rob & LuJean>2019 Auto Show

Never dull at the Auto Show!
