June 12 thru 15th
We booked an early Teton trip in an effort to avoid the summer wildfire
smoke and the crowds. Thanks to winter
storms and a late spring the lakes and rivers were at capacity while Jackson
Hole was green against a backdrop of snow capped mountains.
The Park Service was busy warning visitors about the bears near the lodge. We also visited the new Jenny Lake Visitor Center and the Gros Ventre slide and valley.
The mountains were especially beautiful as we were having breakfast at
the lodge. We also took the jeep on the
backroads, including Moose Head Ranch.
This is a great time of year to visit the Tetons unless you are planning on hiking in the mountains--you would need snowshoes.
