Late Summer Adventures

In early September we embarked on a two day Jeep excursion in central Utah.  The results are  chronicled in two new gallaries:

Also in mid September we enjoyed a lunch with LuJean's siblings.

                             Here we have Beth, Naoma, Arnold, Vernal, LuJean and Carolyn.

A Birthday, Albian Basin and Star Valley

On August 4th we celebrated Alexander's eight birthday and baptism.  It was a fun get together for all, including the grandparents.






August 5th we enjoyed a  trip to Albian Basin.  We did a short hike but noted that the wildflowers were still several weeks from full bloom.

On August 10th we attended LuJean's 55th class reunion in Wyoming.  You can spot her in the back, right of center.  Wonderful folks along with a fine Dutch oven dinner--yum!

Wasatch Plateau Road Trip

In an effort to escape the July heat we did a quick trip to the beautiful alpine meadows of the Wasatch Plateau.

Early Trip to the Tetons

June 12 thru 15^th

We booked an early Teton trip in an effort to avoid the summer wildfire smoke and the crowds.  Thanks to winter storms and a late spring the lakes and rivers were at capacity while Jackson Hole was green against a backdrop of snow capped mountains.

The Park Service was busy warning visitors about the bears near the lodge. We also visited the new Jenny Lake Visitor Center and the Gros Ventre slide and valley.

The mountains were especially beautiful as we were having breakfast at the lodge.  We also took the jeep on the backroads, including Moose Head Ranch. 

This is a great time of year to visit the Tetons unless you are planning on hiking in the mountains--you would need snowshoes.

April Trip to Zion Park

April 26 thru 30th
We joined Matt & Julie on their family campout at Zion Park.

We also made side trips to the ghost town of Grafton, Hurricane Mesa and St. George.

We have added a new gallery that provides a detailed review of the June, 1973, backpack trip down Deer Creek, Boulder Creek and The Gulch.  Due to high water, it became a complicated adventure full of  surprises.

We also added several dozen photos to the Quill Traders collage gallery.  Even if you don't know all the players, sometimes it's just fun to view a bunch of young, energetic friends having a good time...well, most of the time.
